Washington D.C. - Vacation

My favorite place in the world is my home state. Lone Star just has a ring to it, ya know?
My second favorite place in the world is the beautiful land of D.C. - second place is shared with Maine. : )
One of my best friends & I spent three days this summer walking the streets of our nation's capitol. We crammed it in! Visiting the usual spots plus some new uniquisite ones too. Sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to see the sunrise...simply beautiful. The rain fell a little more than the sun shone! One of my new favorite memories is of us riding through the memorials on town bikes and seeing fireflies light the evening...
The U.S. Capitol...Matthew was our guide...best tour guide guy ever. Air and Space Museum. Sandwiches on the lawn of the Capitol. Ice cream in the dining atrium. Jefferson's library. History walks through the streets with a camera. Metro rides. Capitol Station. Sitting near Mr. Lincoln. The Vietnam Wall at night. Seeing history come alive, seeing history being made in the present...what a beautiful trip.

Waiting With Hope

Have you ever waited for something with all of your heart?
Ever felt hope begin to dance inside of you?
Ever seen that hope start to fade as fear tries to overwhelm?
Don't. Give. Up.
Keep waiting and let Hope rise to welcome what's coming, what's been promised, what's being made ready for you. It shall come in perfect time and the wait will not have been without worth.

Rodeo - March 2011

I miss the Rodeo. So, when I was a little girl...so little I don't remember any of this...my parents took me to the HLS Rodeo. Since that little girl time, I hadn't ever been again. I felt almost un-Texan for letting years go by and not jumping on the livestock wagon and going to see this amazing show. Whaaat? Time to remedy. 2011 was my rodeo year. My forever friends (a.k.a my cell group) and I went and had a uniquisite time. That word back there was made up in the truck ride that day. By way of Tori. We loved every part of the whole day. I loved every part of the whole day, I'll speak for everyone. Maybe Adrienne wasn't so loving being nearly knocked over by the hungry "petting zoo" animals. They loved eating out of her hand. I figured that instead of writing 9,000 words to intro this post...the rodeo is definitely worth more...I'll caption one liners below the pics. Oh boy! This is bringing back the memories! Aw yeah! Rabbits! Bee combs, chickens and roosters, chicks in the incubators, milking booth, those A&Mers everywhere :) wheat and cotton, those beautiful quilts, belts and boots...love boots :)...cotton candy and a Ferris wheel. All of this with many of my closest friends...absolutely freamy. Scroll down for more :) Oh and I can't WAIT to go again next year. Yipperay! 104 days until the show! I wonder if I can get that timer app here on my blog...wouldn't that be fun?
