Luke - Summer 2010

Where. To. Begin. The beginning is the best.
18 years ago last Friday, Luke was born. His family had been stationed in AK at the time. Winter swirled outside as he came into the world to say hello with his cry. I remember the night he was born. Almost like yesterday :) My uncle called us in the middle of the night to tell us that Luke had arrived. I had a new cousin and he was a fighter! He had come a bit early, according to some. I know he came at just the right time, it was God's time. I met him a couple of months later. He was so tiny. Super cute. Cried much. Even cuter. I next remember seeing him when he was three. He wanted me to push him in the stroller :) My uncle asked him who he wanted to be on push duty and he pointed at me. Yes! Being the favorite cousin begins! I love that we're alike some. We could hangout in photography land for hours. Read books for fun - Tuesdays With Morrie and Narnia met through us. Favorite color is green. We like people, like hearing their stories. Love that we're different. Love that he's graduating from high school this year and I could take some of his senior pics. Love his initiative. Love that he listens. Love his quiet heart. To my favorite cousin, Lukee - congratulations! You are loved and I am so excited to see you walk this new road. May HIS grace and faithfulness be by your side as you seek the plans God has for you.

Brandtlets - October 10, 2010

Slipped on rubber boots to take a walk through the woods. Felt like we were in Narnia. Pine trees like a soft canopy overhead. Sunlight streamed down, gave sparkle to freckles and made the chill go away. Love freckles. Love that my favorite kids are growing up. Love knowing them each year as they grow older. Love seeing their hearts lit with love for their Heavenly Father. My five favorite kids, until I'm blessed with kids of my own :) Still then, these five will always remain special to my heart. Knowing them has added to my excitement about having a family someday :) Here's to pizza nights and date nights, swing time and playing house, walks around the neighborhood, playing with those T boys (Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone complete with the cap), old west and old east days, and living down the street from each other. Simply Fun.

Brand. New. Blog. For a new season in photography. Don't you love the word photography? It evokes a sense of wonder and joy and even at times sadness. From Webster himself, the definition of photography: the art or process of producing images by the action of radiant energy and especially light on a sensitive surface (as film or a CCD chip) Light. It lays the foundation for moments and memories to stay alive for a long time. To me, light represents hope. I love HOPE! I know hope deep in my heart. It resides in me forever, my hope rests for all of eternity in the ONE who is the light of this world. HIS home shall be my home one day. Back to light :) My heart's desire is to capture those around me who want to live in the light everyday. I want to be HIS light. With my whole heart.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this photo blog. I hope you enjoy looking at these photographs as much as I enjoyed shooting them.
